Hi everyone!! I hope you all had a great week. Yay OCTOBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hottest month of the year down here in Brazil hahaha. I can only imagine at this point. But thank you for all your emails I just love you guys so much.
This week was awesome! I love this area so much and my comp and I are best friends. This week we got to have interviews with our mission president!! I just love them. We got trained in a new program we are going to be implementing into all the wards in our mission. I'm so excited!
I have a new American friend in my zone!!! Her name is Sister Post and she is from Montana -I'm so happy. She and her companion came with us to eat lunch on Friday and it was awesome!
I loved my package so much and I gave the candy to all the ward members and stuff and they looooved it so much oh my goodness haha they are just so happy to get something from the US! This sweet lady made me my favorite corn pudding thing here (I don't know what it's called - I always forget haha) but then I brought her a present and she started crying she was so happy.
This week our RC (recent convert) got her first calling in Relief Society! She was super nervous but we were so happy to help her with her first assignment.
I got proposed to again this week - ugh but it really was the funniest thing. We have been teaching this guy for a while but we can only teach him on the street. He actually came to church with us! We came back a few days later and he had a friend with him and we thought sweet. Reference. Well the whole time I was trying to teach the lesson his friend would not stop talking to my comp - like in a side conversation. In the middle of my lesson our investigator asked me what I thought of a house on the street I was like uh.. it's nice! And he was like great. I'm buying it for you and me. Will you marry me? This completely weirded me out and then my comp comes into the conversation all confused and this guy looked at his friend and said "What did I tell you! I needed a minute with the American and YOU needed to talk to the other ugh why did you even come!" My comp and I were just sitting there looking at each other thinking ya, we are literally right here listening to you both! hahahaha oh Brazil.
This week we have a Sisters Conference and I'm super excited! I'm going to be speaking so I'm a little nervous haha. But we will get to be with all the Sisters in the mission!! Yay!
We got go to the General Womens broadcast and I could actually understand it this time! Hahaha but I just loved all the talks so much. They all seemed to talk about the importance of an eternal perspective and I really loved the story President Uchtdorf shared about the little girl. Sometimes even as missionaries we get caught up in talking about eternity as if its something so far off but I loved what he said that forever is composed of nows. The decisions we make today and tomorrow will shape what our eternity will look like. I'm so grateful for the perspective a mission has given to me. Don't forget to have an eternal perspective in all things and remember that the Lord has a plan that is eternal for each one of us :)
“I also created them for mine own purpose; all things are numbered unto me, for they are mine and I know them”
Have a wonderful week - I love you guys!
