It's so hard to believe another transfer is already ending!! They are seriously starting to go by so fast it's scary. Next transfer I will hit my nine month mark! That makes me a little sad that it's already half way over. I feel like I got here just a little bit ago!
The last few weeks have been some of my absolute favorite of my whole mission. Which is a little ironic because it's really really really really. really. hot. But last week we were able to baptized one of my favorite ladies of all time. She and I will be friends forever! She was a reference of a member and used to take the missionary discussions all the time but never was baptized. Her brother who is a member asked us to give her a little push and of course we were happy to do that. We gave her a really powerful lesson on families and the restoration of the gospel. She started crying right away said she was reminded of the response the Lord gave her when she went to the Manaus temple open house. She committed to baptism and was confirmed yesterday :) I'm sooo happy! I love her!!! And her little boy is the cutest in the world.
This week was a little crazyyy haha but what's new here in Manaus! We were able to go the temple with my zone!! The Manaus temple is so insanely gorgeous I'm obsessed! And seriously just what we need out here. It's like kind of jungley haha i love it.
While we were there at the little store buying stuff the little store lady came up to me and said ,`how long have you been out here?` I told her about 8 months and she said what!! I dont believe it. And I was like why? Is my portugues bad? haha and she said no... you are really really happy and still have the greenie spirit. That made me so happy to hear haha but it made me stop and think. I am still so happy to be out here serving the Lord. There is just no greater joy.
This week we received another miracle!!! Irmã Aubertiza. She came with us to church last week and this week when we went and taught her we invited her to be baptized. She said she needed some time to think and pray and we said of course. We went back a day later and she was acting really funny and was really quiet. We asked her if everything was good and she said well... I prayed and received an answer about my baptism. I will be baptized into your church. whooo hooo!!!!!! We baptized her on Sunday and she was so cute with everyone.
This week I got a letter from my friend that had a talk inside that I loved so much and I wanted to share part of it with all of you :) Its from Marvin J Ashton. He talks about the importance of attitude which I know everyone talks about but it was really interesting to hear that message through the eyes of this apostle. Just as in a game many things can determine who is the winner like attitude, direction and desire. Proverbs 23:7 says "..for as a man thinketh... so is he." If each of us are able to make it through this game of life optimism, courage, and good cheer are essential. As members of the church we must build hope in others and personally make dark days bright. `he who made us expects us to be victorious`
As missionaries sometimes we have a lot of hard days but I'm learning that to be happy and build hope in others takes a lot of courage and inner strength. This comes from the unforgettable invitation of Christ, 'come follow me, let not your heart be troubled for I have overcome the world.` I know each of us can do this as well through having unwavering courage to be a light.
Have a wonderful week! I love you all sooo much thank you for everything. I am so lucky to get so much support :)
