Hello everyone!!!!! Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay so just to clear up all your questions...no Brazil does not celebrate Thanksgiving because it was a holiday of our pilgrims only haha but that's okay. Next year I will be there!
This week.... was a week of miracles! We found a man named Jesus that is here for a little while from Venezuela! He speaks mostly Spanish so I learned a little this week haha! He was a total miracle set up by the Lord. We taught him the first lesson last week and he started crying and then came to church with us and started crying there because he could just feel how true these things he was hearing are. Then we challenged him to pray about being baptised the next week (this week) and he said he wasn't really getting an answer. We challenged him to pray with us right there to get a response and he did and couldn't even finish the prayer without crying because he knew that is what the Lord needed him to do! So he was baptized :))
I was reminded what President Kimball said - when a person begins to see something of eternity in its true perspective the blessings begin to far outweigh the cost of leaving the world behind. That promise was made true to us this week!
My comp made lots of divisions this last week and will we will make more this week. But I was able to stay in our area and train Sister Bailey here! It was like super hot all day and then our appointments kept falling through. We were like okay well one good thing has to happen today! We made a few street contacts and I showed her how to challenge them to be baptized on the street and they accepted!! They didn't come to church this week... but one thing at a time. Our last appointment for the day was set in stone - I knew things were going to work out. But when we got there this lady answered and told us that our appointment had moved yesterday. What? fala serio hahaha but then she asked...are you both missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ? yes! we are! And she said oh great! My son went to your church a few times this last year and really loved it and would like to be baptized. And I was thinking if he loves it.. I too will love it and would like to be baptized with him. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS hahahaha miracles are so real. Me and Sister Bailey were like just sitting there speechless!
This week I came across a scripture that I really loved. While the Lord was helping the children of Israel cross the Red Sea he says,
"The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace."
Don't forget that the Lord is fighting for us and our battles. What are we to fear when we have the Lord at our side. I know we can take the Lord for His word. He will never go back on the promises he has made to his children and he is here fighting for each one of us in our own individual battles.
I love you so much!!!
