Ola everyone!!!!!! I miss you guys so much!! Sister Brown and I decided to take pics of of our emails this week because we just don't have time to read them!! I will respond to everyone as soon as I can - you guys are the best :)
Okay for starters!! I am officially in my 4th week here at the MTC!! This means in two weeks I will be on my way up to Manaus and where I will get to meet my mission president for the first time. Oh my goodness I can't wait! I am starting to see the light at the end of this MTC tunnel haha. This place is really awesome but I am super excited to go into my area.
This week was the best week of my whole mission so far because PROSELITISMO!!!! On wednesday we were able to leave the CTM and take a bus to down town Sao Paulo and place Books of Mormon!! It was so awesome me and minha companheira placed 4 in under and hour :) and people were so nice and accepting!! They were amazed we were giving them a free book. They seemed to understand us I think!! Ah it was so great. I feel like I learned more Portuguese just being out there with everyone than I do in class all day so I am super excited for the field. We were also able to talk to several people on the bus!!! We got a little bit of sun so that was awesome although it was super hot. I'm just soakin it up because this is nothing compared to Manaus hahaha.
The Brazilians CANNOT pronounce my name and it's seriously hilarious. They are so cute - the best they can do is "aahhbooklie" and I'm just like yes perfect!! Haha I love them. They pronounce facebook "faceybookey" and joseph smith "josephey smitchey" hahahaha what.
Okay so funny moments: Elder Markham asked his investigator if he would be baptized in 3 seconds instead of 3 minutes so funny and we had to go around and relate to our investigators and I got band mixed up with bathroom and I told her I would like to be in a bathroom. Um yeah so embarassing.
IT IS SO HOT AND HUMID HERE ahhh i have no idea what Manaus is gonna be like!! After we work out we are like insanely sweaty and red. We always take freezing cold showers to cool our bodies down and then we still come out flushed and red what the heck!! Everyone keeps saying I'm going to be black when I get back from Manaus. The showers are absolutely revolting. I accidently dropped some things on the ground and I actually just thought about just discarding them right then and there.
Our Branch Presidents are so sweet! They are converts so they LOVE missionaries (especially sisters because sisters taught them) and it's so great. Every Sunday we get taught by our MTC president and he is amazing. He said to bring ANY question we have about the gospel and he will answer it!
Sister Brown and I are doing a musical number with Elder Markham and his companion. I think it sounds really good!
I am in love with the fruit here seriously it's amazing. I eat so much guava it's unreal hahaha. Brazilians eat so much protien - the other night we had chicken and eggs (what).
Oh this week we started TRC!! This is when we teach and they film us and we watch it later. Yeah my Portuguese.... it will get better ;)
Today we get to go outside and walk around to all the cute little shops around the MTC!!
Okay that is all the time I have to update but I love you all so much!! Some days are harder than others but I am super excited. Only two more weeks until Manaus! A lady at the temple day told me I'm an angel for going to Manaus. What does this mean??
My testimony of prayer this week has been strengthened so much and I am so grateful for it. I know it is so important for all of us to talk with our Heavenly Father. I have to give a talk in Portuguese on sunday!! I'm so scared. But, like it says in Moroni have miracles ceased among the children of men? No, they have not. One of the best things about being a missionary like it says in Preach my Gospel is "bringing hope and raising hands that hopelessly hang down". The gospel of Jesus Christ can heal and help anyone in any situation and it is such a blessing to be here. I love these people and their culture with all my heart. I can't wait to see what else my mission has in store.
I love you all so much! Thank you for all your love and support :)
