Hi everyone! I am emailing on Tuesday this week because our President switched our P-Day for just this week due to a holiday here called ´Children's Day´ haha it's a little bit funny but it's cool! I think my pday might be switched next week too but I'm actually not sure right now.
Thank you for all the emails. You guys have no idea how much they help! I hope you all enjoyed General Conference. I feel like it gets better and better every time and I love that we can go back and relisten and restudy and continually receive revelation.
These last three weeks my companion and I have had 4 set dates of baptism marked with everything ready and set to go. Each of them though all had a way of falling through at the last minute and we are trying not to get too discouraged. One day we got home and my companion turned to me and said "Look. Look! My feet are black. No my feet, legs, face, and arms are completely black. Also- my hair is falling out. We are doing our part and the Lord will bless us with a miracle this transfer." So we are anxiously working to find this miracle.
This week is "Sanctification week" where everyone in the entire mission has committed to being 100% obedient all the time. (Not that it's ever okay to be disobedient) but now everyone has comitted to putting forth every effort possible and we have been promised many many blessings from our President. So we are excited. Next transfer we should have two weddings here in these areas! We have been working a great deal with these families who have members wanting to be baptized. More details to come about those soon :) But I think that's about all going on here! It's supposed to start raining here soon hallelujah!
One thing I loved about conference was that everyone emphasized the importance of being obedient to the commandments of our Heavenly Father. Obedience is what brings happiness inside of our families. It's what gives us hope and promises from our Father in Heaven and gives us the power and worthiness to receive personal revelation. The world will always try to bend and modify the rules but our Savior has been so clear with what he expects from each of us in this life. As President Uchtrorf said, "Living the gospel the doing the Savior's work on the earth will bring blessings that we cannot comprehend" :) Be obedient and be happy this week!!
Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers - I really just love you all :)
