Oi! Hey guys! Well another week has gone by and for some crazy miracle today is overcast! This week was super hot. Actually hot is an understatement. But this week was good!
I was able to get to know some members in this area and I really love the ward! Our area is super super hilly but that can be a good thing.
This week was full of walking and sweating, walking and climbing and sweating some more. In the end it was all worth it! Sunday a random man who we had only talked to once showed up at church and was our miracle this week. All the other investigators slept in. We were so happy to see him and he seriously loved church. Afterwards he literally wouldn't stop talking about how much he loves our church - such a miracle right? His name is Jackson.
This next week will be awesome because we have our mission council with the President and will receive training to pass on to the other missionaries. My zone and district are awesome! This transfer I will take care of a new American sister named Sister Thacker too! She is super cute and is being trained by another sister I became friends with a while ago.
I'm not sure how to describe how I felt when I first came to this area but it was like complete dejavu - a strong feeling that I've been and worked here before. So many places have brought me this feeling this week. It feels like every time I've dreamt of my mission before I came out it looked exactly like it looks here. Even my companion will sometimes do something that makes me remember how I always used to imagine having a companion and what it would feel like. I can see so clearly that even though I was so sad to be transferred my last few weeks, the Lord has had this transfer planned the whole time.
My companion was a little sad that she is going to have to send another companion home. Her last companion also went home and was super trunky. I promised her we were going to work like crazy and never talk about what is going to happen in five weeks. Every time she introduces me to the members and they say another sister that will be finishing her mission here! She says yeah but this one is different -she never talks about going home. And that made me feel so good :) I have such a good feeling about the next few weeks.
This week in my study of the Book of Mormon I read about the way Mormon described his son Moroni - what kind of person and leader he was and the potential that he ultimately had. I read about what characteristics he portrayed that lead him to be such an amazing captain.
Alma 48: 11-13 & 17:
11 And Moroni was a strong and a mighty man; he was a man of a perfect understanding; yea, a man that did not delight in bloodshed; a man whose soul did joy in the liberty and the freedom of his country, and his brethren from bondage and slavery;
12 Yea, a man whose heart did swell with thanksgiving to his God, for the many privileges and blessings which he bestowed upon his people; a man who did labor exceedingly for the welfare and safety of his people.
13 Yea, and he was a man who was firm in the faith of Christ, and he had sworn with an oath to defend his people, his rights, and his country, and his religion, even to the loss of his blood.
17 Yea, verily, verily I say unto you, if all men had been, and were, and ever would be, like unto Moroni, behold, the very powers of hell would have been shaken forever; yea, the devil would never have power over the hearts of the children of men.
I know that as each of us put our full faith in Christ and submit to the Lord's will we too can be powerful instruments in the hands of our Father and that He will help us have a "perfect comprehension" of all things and that we will be able to defend Him and His plan at all times
I love you!
