Hi everyone!!! Today I don't have a lot of time to write - we have an appointment with an investigator. But I wanted to give a quick update! Things are going great and I'm excited to work extra hard as the last week of this transfer!
I loved loved loved this week because we had a baptism of Irmã Maria Placida and Gabriel got the priesthood and will pass the sacrament next week!! He was all stressed out because he doesn't have a white shirt and tie but a sweet member from the ward gave him one to wear and taught him how to tie a tie and it was the sweetest thing ever! I wanted to cry he was so excited!
Ah Irmã Maria Placida was unbelievable excited for her baptism and we taught her all week. Her two daughters and their children were able to come to the baptism and this week we are going to make a division with two girls in our ward that are putting in their papers to serve a mission! One of them is her grandaughter. I love helping people prepare and convincing them that a mission is actually the best decision ever because it is folks :)
This week we are going to baptize João Marcos!!! He is 19 and is soooo excited to serve a mission so we are pretty stoked! He has come to church a few times but didn't have time to listen to our lessons during the week. But we got to teach him a few times and he committed to baptism and in 3 weeks is already like halfway into the Book of Mórmon. He loves the church and so we are happy!!! We taught him the commandments yesterday and it went so well!!
I wanted to say HAPPY FATHERS DAY TO THE BEST DAD IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!! I love you so so so so much and am so grateful for you and all your letters :) I gave a talk yesterday and the presidente asked if I could talk about what I have learned from my parents. Kind of funny haha but I wrote it in english first and then translated it so I will send it to you :) I'm so grateful for having a worthy priesthood holder at all times in our home and knowing that if I ever need anything he is there. It means so much. Everyone laughed so hard when I gave them the example of how you even listen to conference talks while you work out hahaha but really it's the best. Thank you for everything I love you so much!!
Keep pluggin along guys!! I know the Savior lives and that he will come again. I'm so grateful for this gospel and I know without a doubt homes that center their lives on the teachings of the Savior will be a safehouse of evil from the world for youth and adults. Our misison president´s wife told us that to have a happy worthy family we need to have family home evenings with refreshments, study the scriptues, and pray together all the time. Confide in one another and be obediente. This is the only way to happiness I know for certain.
I love you all so much!!!!!!!!!!
