Hello Everyone!
The impeachment is big news here! It's definitely an interesting time to live here in Brazil..
Today was transfers and I received a new companion! Her name is Sister de Jesus! She is so cute and I have actually met her before. She is a sweetheart and this will be her first transfer as an STL so I'm excited to get to show her everything. We are also going home the same transfer so...trunky :) haha jk She is awesome and this transfer will be great! We will be overseeing most of the same Sisters as I have before so...nothing crazy.
My new zone leader though is Elder Baldridge who was from my original MTC group! He's awesome - this transfer is going to rock.
This week we baptized Roberta! Yay! She is just the nicest and has been coming to church for the last month. She was able to give up coffee last week and was baptized yesterday!
Other than that...we have been making many divisions with the sisters that we take care of so we were almost not even in our area this week. Our focus this week will be increasing our new investigator pool and getting to know the new greenies that are coming in (love them).
Well...that's really all that is going on around here. We are excited for a new transfer and even though sometimes it feels like we have a lot going on, one thing that has come to play in my life more than ever before is the power of prayer. I love what Moroni tells his people when he gives them words of wisdom and comfort in Mormon 9:27,37:
27 O then despise not, and wonder not, but hearken unto the words of the Lord, and ask the Father in the name of Jesus for what things soever ye shall stand in need. Doubt not, but be believing, and begin as in times of old, and come unto the Lord with all your heart, and work out your own salvation with fear and trembling before him.
37 And may the Lord Jesus Christ grant that their prayers may be answered according to their faith; and may God the Father remember the covenant which he hath made with the house of Israel; and may he bless them forever, through faith on the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
I know that when we have faith and do good works our Heavenly Father will grant us whatever we ask for if it be according to his will. What a great promise that is to each of us! Then Christ can truly grant that our prayers will receive answers just as he did for the Nephites.
I love you all!
