Oi!!!!!! Happy Mothers Day!!! Ahh it was so totally great to talk to my family this weekend!! I love you guys so much!! I was really surprised because I really thought that I would become a little sad afterwords but I really felt so energized and happy to continue this work knowing that I have all of your support!! You guys are actually the best.
Ah this week I get to go to Manaus!!! On Thursday all themissionaries are flying into Manaus to meet a member of the Seventy who is coming to talk to us!!! I am so excited! I will get to meet so many people in my mission!!!!! It's just for a day but I think but it will be awsome.
This week was so great!!! We are teaching a lot of new people and new families. We are teaching this one boy named Gabrielle. He is so amazing - he comes to church every week by himself and he is only 17! We are working with an addiction recovery plan for him for alcohol but it's been amazing to see the Light of Christ actively working in his life. When we first met him he was pretty flippant about the church even though he told us he needed it. He didn't respond to very many of our questions and said he probably wouldn't complete any of our assignments we gave him. We kind of thought our lesson would be a one time thing. We went back a couple days later and he was smoking and things looked bad. We decided to go back one last time and when we got there he was all cleaned up. He looked so good and was so attentive. He told us that he had read the Book of Mormon and had prayed about it. One night he said he was having a hard time and decided to do what we had told him. He felt so much peace in his heart after the prayer and he knew that God was there and was listening. This was such a miracle!!! Seriously me and my comp almost started crying. Ever since he has been so great. He reads the Book of Mormon and has been coming to church. This is truly the Atonment of Jesus Christ at work. And for him it started down on his knees and ever since he has had a desire to better himself.
Geisla is going to be baptized this week!!!! She called us and asked if her friend from Manaus can fly in and baptize her. So literally he is flying out Friday night to baptize her on Sunday!!!! After our lesson this week she said, "sooo what do I need to do if I want to serve a mission? I've really been feeling like this is something i want to do." ahhhhhhhh YESSSSSSS she will be an amazing missionary!!!!! so we talked abut it for quite a while and after me and Sister Dos Santos almost started crying with happiness.
K so I just wanted to say Happy Mothers day to my amazing mom and tell her once again how much I LOVE HER and being away from her is definitely the hardest part of my mission! We had a devotional with all the district for Mothers Day and at the end some Elders bore their testimony about their mothers and it was actually the sweetet thing ever. But for reals I don't know what i would do without you mom - thank you so much for everything I don't know how I got so lucky :)) Thank you so much to all the other women that have influenced my life in church, young womens, friends, work. I have a strong testimony of the importance of women in our lives and I know they are of great importance to our Father in Heaven as well in building up His kingdom stronger than ever here on the earth. Now more than ever our Father in Heaven needs his faithful members to hold faster and faster to the iron rod. We live in a world that is confused, lost, and looking for truth. Lines are getting blurred and the importance of being obedient is decreasing. But our Father in Heaven is the same yesterday, today and forever. His laws, his ways, his love, and his plan are unchanging. I know this to be true. In D&C we read
36 And now, verily I say unto you, and what I say unto one I say unto all, be of good cheer, little children; for I am in your midst, and I have not forsaken you; 37 And inasmuch as you have humbled yourselves before me, the blessings of the kingdom are yours.38 Gird up your loins and be watchful and be sober, looking forth for the coming of the Son of Man, for he cometh in an hour you think not. 39 Pray always that you enter not into temptation, that you may abide the day of his coming, whether in life or in death. Even so. Amen.
I know that our Heavenly Father is with us these last days. He wants more than anything to bless us and for us to come back and live with him. Right now he needs us to be faithful to Him and to His only Begotten Son and our Savior Jesus Christ. We can pray to Him any time we need extra comfort, love or answers. I know hH is there listening. Share your testimony of His restored gospel with some one this week and watch a miracle :) I sure love you all so much thank you for everything!!!!!!!
