Hi Everyone!! Happy Easter!!
This week was awesome. I hope you guys loved conference as much as I did. Even though Easter here is not the same I got to watch conference in English and I loved all the messages on Easter. While we were at the church building watching conference a sweet lady in our ward gave me a pair of shoes and a chocolate egg haha
Okay so this lady in our district/stake heard about me and met me at general conference and said her husband wants to make me cobra and crocodile. WHAT. At first I was like haha you guys are so funny and then they were like "Okay great, what is a good time!? Eah hey we're serious. So I have that to look forward to this week.
We met an awesome family this week and seriously I feel like I'm going to be friends with this family forever. They just love us so much and it's awesome because all of the families that get married and baptised now I may get to go to their sealing in one year in Manaus!!! I am so excited. The teenage girl Milena especially loved our message and she asked if she could come teaching with us. The next day when we came to pick her up she had read 12 chapters out of the Book of Mormon and said she had decided she wants to serve a mission and get married in the temple! Serious! It was amazing to see how she was so prepared and was literally just placed into our hands. We taught one of her friends and while I was explaining the Book of Mormon she interjected and bore a powerful tesimony of the Book of Mormon right there to her friends. What? She read it one dayy ago!!! Aah it was such a miracle my comp and I almost started crying.
This week I went to fruit heaven! Look at the pics :) All that for 6 bucks. Yeah and I never even knew there are 203948029 kinds of bananas but there are!! We were kind of far from our home and we walked by this place selling all this fruit - I couldn't pass it up! And my comp was like no you do not have the strength to carry that whole watermelon all the way back home. And I was like 1) it's my favorite fruit and 2) it's 1 dollar. I HAVE to and so that was hard and a really long walk but so worth it.
This week my comp and I went to a ward activity with Milena and her 5 year old brother and he carried his little Book of Mormon with him all the way to the church. It was the cutest thing in the world. Someone brought a guitar and everyone wanted me to sing them a song solo and was like ahhh what hahaha but I finally did. They wanted me to sing a Miley Cyrus song and it was pretty sweet. These people are just so sweet and loving and it makes me so happy to make them happy.
Okay so crazy experience and this is not a joke!! The power kept going out in the building during general conference and all the missionaries were watching it in English. We decided we were going to kneel down and say a prayer because all of our investigators were there. So of course they ask me because I'm the only one that isn't fluent in Portuguese yet. I started the prayer and thanked Heavenly Father for the opportunity we had to listen to our prophet and apostles and then I said please bless the power...and no joke THE POWER CAME ON THAT SECOND!! It's like something that happens in a movie haha.
Okay so I hope you all loved conference as much as I did. I loved it because all our investigators came and because of the inspiring humbling and powerful words we heard. I love the prophet so much and his apostles. It is one of my most favorite thing to teach about it to investigators. We do have a living prophet that leads and guides us. People are amazed about this and it's such a powerful thing to bring in the restoration message to our lessons. The Savior lives. I know at this with all my heart. There have been a lot of times that I needed answers about the work and my purpose here. Every time I pray I think of our Savior and his life and I remember that this is his gospel. Because He lives we will live again. I loved how Elder Holland put it - He suffered that he might lift us all to eternal life where justice, love, and mercy meet. Because of Him this life isn't the end and each of us are able to do all things that are expedient unto Him. As a missionary I rely on these words every day. Study the words of the prophets this week! They will bring great comfort and guidance in your life. I love you all so much! Have a great week :)
