Happy 4th of July Everyone!!!!!!! One of my favorite holidays... I really really love America. That's all I will say hahaha...
Okay so this week!!! This week was super great, crazy, with disappointing results on Sunday but it's all part of being here on a mish. I am with a sweet 18 year old that is getting ready to go out on a mission in a little under a year! She's about the nicest girl ever and is excited and ready to work hard the next transfer so I'm super happy. Her name is Sister Patrini and she is Peruvian with the sweetest accent. She got in on Friday and before that I was in a trio with other sisters of the zone.
This week our ward had a sweet traditional party that they have here in Brazil!!! Its called a ____. (She didn't give it a name) Literally awesome I will send pics!!! (She didn't send pics but someone in the branch posted pics on Facebook)
This week we are going to baptize Arnoldo!!! He has worked so hard and prepared to be baptized and so we are pretty excited. This last week he came to church too! And then when we went back on Tuesday he told us that he felt like he was blessed for going to church because his job was looking pretty shaky and he didn't think that he was going to pull through. But the Monday after he came to church he got a call and his boss secured his spot. He said he knows for a fact this was a blessing from the Lord. Go to church everyone the blessings are real!!! The Lord always provides a way for us to keep his commandments even when we don't know how with work and other commitments. He will always bless us when we put our trust in Him!!
Pretty much the highlight of my week (besides getting a super great comp) was being out on the street and hearing someone yell "Sister Arbuckle!!!!!!!" And one of my old investigators who is 18 came up to me and asked when we would stop by again because they miss us :) These people live very far away from our house and it was incredible that we happened to run into them. Coincidence? I think not :)) They were traveling but just got back so heck yes we are going to go back this week!!
Also yesterday at fast and testimony meeting 3 of our recent converts got up and bore their testimonies. Seriously they were so powerful and I was just sitting there like almost crying! I can't even describe the happiness you feel when someone you taught and introduced the gospel to gets up and says they know that the gospel is true. They know the Savior lives and then they talk about the mission that they will be serving and the duty they have to their Savior. IT IS SERIOUSLY THE BEST EVER!!! Also having Irmã Maria Placida with her arm around me the entire sacrament meeting which was insanely uncomfortable but what can you do she is just full of love :))
I was super sad to hear Elder Packer died. I always loved his words! So I left you with my two favorite quotes from him :)
"We are not obedient because we are blind, we are obedient because we can see."
"Your secret yearnings and tearful pleadings will touch the heart of both the Father and the Son."
Love each of you so much!! Read your scriptues, talk to your Father in Heaven, and go to church - the blessings are real :))
