Hi Everyone!!!! I hope you are all super happy and safe! Thanks for all the emails - I love you all so much!!
These last couple weeks have been good. We baptized a less active's 12 year old son and his baptism was a super spiritual experience for everyone - we are super hopeful that the whole family will come back firm in the church. This week we are going to baptize Jorge!!! (it's the Português version of George). He is 79 years old and seriously doesn't stop talking even during the sacrament. My Branch President kept giving me funny looks to tell him to shut up but I didn't know what to do! He just has the biggest heart and loves us so much. He's still runnin strong and said to us, "Ladies I can't stop lying to myself. I could die any day here now. I can't die without being baptized!" No you cannot sir so lets get goin hahaha we are super excited for him.
We found the most amazing family this week. We find lots of amazing families during the week but the MOST amazing ones are the ones that come to the church on Sunday :) Plus they read 2 chapters out of the Book of Mormon together as a family. Whooo!! :) They are so humble and happy and have a daughter that is 12 so the Young Women were so happy when they saw her at church!! We still haven't met her other two sons but we are going to work with them alot this week and try and marry them and baptize them this transfer!!
My comp is like so sad she will be goin home next transfer - she wanted to stay for the full 3 months of a short term mish but it's been so fun working with her! She leaves for her mission about the time that I will come home so I promised I would send her some stuff while she's out. She loved all my American snacks hahaha.
Last Sunday my recent convert passed me the sacrament in a white shirt and tie and then a girl that we baptized last transfer gave a talk and I got all emotional about it! They probably think I'm crazy but seriously when they say in your mission call packet `greater blessings and more happiness than you have yet experienced await you as you humbly serve the Lord in this labor of love` I promise it is so real. I thought of that phrase during the meeting and thought the Lord really knows what he is doing! After this next transfer I will have just about half of my mission out here in Boa Vista!! But it's totally okay, I seriously love this ward and people sooo much!!
K I'm closing with a sweet scripture I read this week that applies to all of us:
“But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren” (Luke 22:31–32).
What we have in our hands, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, is truly more happiness and peace than people can ever imagine. The importance of sharing the gospel with others is not comprehensible! Everyone has their ability to choose and act on our invitations but they would never have this chance unless we as members of the church share this truth with everyone. Even those we don't think will listen :) Elder Uctdorf said `if you could see missionary work like I can, you wouldn't walk you would run.` I love this too. Run and talk to everyone this week about the Gospel. I know the Savior will be right beside you and be so proud of you!! Thanks for everything everyone! I love and miss you so much!!
