Hello everyone!!! I hope you guys are all doing awesome!! So much happend this week and I like don´t have very much time to email like always!! But just know I´m happy and safe and doing great <3
Okay so I stayed here in my first area - Boa Vista with my second companion Sister Dos Santos from Cape Verde! I am officially out of my twelve week training program so I am no longer a greenie!! But yes we are doing awesome and our district goal for this transfer is 25 baptisms. Crazy but possible. I'm super glad I get to stay up here for another transfer because I'm at the point where most of the ward members know my favorite foods and every time we have lunch they always make it for me!!! It is the best. This one sweet lady alwaaaaays buys me goiba juice which is my favorite and another family always makes me this chicken thing that I love. So yeah, staying in an area for a while definitely has its benefits :)
Okay so MANAUS!!!!!!!!!! I was able to visit the city for a conference with our zone from Boa Vista!! We left during the day on Thursday and then left at midnight Friday night. We were able to visit the temple and listen to the words of Elder Schmeil. I believe he is a member of the seventy. And he spoke in Portuguese with his wife! He was so awesome and talked to us about ways we can follow the Spirit and be more sensitive to the promptings as missionaries. I was able to go to the temple!!!!!!!! Guysss the Manaus temple is so insanely beautiful I like didn't want to leave haha. I will send photos <33
Okay so GEISLA WAS BAPTIZED!!!!!! It was so amazing. Her baptism was one of the most touching spiritual experiences I have had here on my mission. She bore such a sweet testimony and I think she was even more excited for her baptism than we were if that is even possible!! And the best part was Gabrielle went with us!! He is doing so good guys and is working so hard to be prepared to be baptized next week. Our goal is for his brother to baptize him and so he is preparing to do this as well. He was so sad when we told him we were leaving for Manaus but we saw him the day before and after so it was all good. Oh and Geisla was called as the Relief Society secretary already!!!! We are so happy she's already contributing to the ward.
This week we are going to baptize Mateus!! He is so cute and comes to seminary and church every week. He was a reference from a friend and I will write more about his story next week. But yess he will be baptised and is preparing for a mission right now as well!!
I gave my fourth talk in this ward here yesterday and I hardly had to use my notes it was awesome! I was super nervous because they asked me to speak for 15 minutes this time and like 15 min in a language you dont know that well is a little diffiicult especially when we don't have time to prepare because of being at our conference and getting in super late!! But it all worked out and they actually had to tap me on the shoulder because I was talking too long...... that has never happend in my entire life!! But afterward a ward member came up to us and said that he wanted to tell us that he doesn't usually trust missionaries but after listening to our talks he trusts us. So he gave us a family to go and see and he said they have been prepared by the Lord. I can't wait to meet them!!
I hope you all have a wonderful week and remember I love you all so much!! A mission has given me so much perspective and I really really love these people. It's such a huge opportunity and blessing to be representing our Savior Jesus Christ, the greatest man that ever lived. Have a wonderful week!!!!!!
