Olá everyone!!! I hope you guys are all happy and safe!!! Things are going great here with my new companion Sister Dos Santos!! This week I got to show her around Boa Vista and meet everyone in the ward. It was a little stressful not having my first trainer who knew the area and people perfectly but this week I learned so much like how to talk on the phone, how to give directions in a taxi, and much more hahaha.
This week we will have a baptism of a family!!! They have been so prepared by the Lord it is a miracle. We have been working with them a lot and our first visit the father, Fransisco told us that he had been feeling that his church is true but that he was looking for more. He loves to read the Biblea and pray and this week we invited him and his family to be baptized and they accepted! We love them so much. The mom, Anna always offers to make us dinner and so that's the best. Also! The kids are literally in love with me - I love it so much. We went to their house this week and we were a little early so the kids hadn't gotten home from school yet - Fransisco needed to go pick them up and he kept it a surprise we were there. When they pulled up and saw us they literally started jumping up and down and dashed out of the car and jumped on us hahaha. I love the kids here! All the girls take turns getting their hair done during our lessons and it's the sweetest and then they go check to make sure it looks exactly like mine hahaha.
We have another investigator named Geilsla! She is so sweet and came to church all by herself because she is seeking for truth in her life. We went to her house this week and her address didn't exist. We were so discouraged because we had been walking for so long to find her! We said a prayer and came back to the same neighborhood a couple hours later and found it out of nowhere. Seriously it was like it just appeared! ah. The Lord is helping us I'm sure of it. She will be baptized in a couple weeks - I'm so happy for her!
IT RAINED IN BOA VISTA THIS WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE RAIN!!!!!!!!!!! ahhh seriously guys. But the first rainfall in a long time here is equivilent to running a hot hot hot pan under the faucet and that first few seconds when all the steam comes up!! Ya know what I'm saying?? Almost more hot haha but rainfall is rain and it makes the work so much easier and fun when its not super super hot!!
Guys this week I had to give a talk again in my ward and IT WENT SO MUCH BETTER THAN MY FIRST TALK ¨6 WEEKS AGO!!!! Ah I was so happy I didn't even have to use all my notes!!
Okay okay miracles of the week:
The awesome elders in our zone came through and got us a ride to and from the airport WITH FOOD. Yeah what. It was the best. They showed up 5 minutes early with food in their hands and we were like we don't even believe this!!! They were awesome haha even though they tricked me into thinking my district leader got hit by a car. It was still a miracle for the week!
I saw an iguana the size of a baby dinosaur and I screamed so loud I scared it away haha but if I can take a pic of it next time I will :)
Okay so this week I did an in depth study of Alma 38 and everyone needs to go read it right now!! I love how he talks about youth and how even though alot of us have been born in the gospel, we also have a responsabilidade to endure to the end!! The overall message I recieved through this chapter and throughout the week is that our Heavenly Father is with us. Alll the time. His love for us is truly uncomprehendable and I have felt his love this week for me and my comp and for all of our investigators over and over through the gift of the Holy Ghost. I know that just like it says in verse 5 He really will deliver us out of our trials and our hardships and no matter what we can turn to our Savior, light and life of the world, in verse 9. The people we are asked to teach and help in this life, our callings, families, missions, whatever the case may be. I love verse 12 that tells us to speak with boldness and love of all people. In return verse 14 says we will be lifted up at the last day and we can all sit down in peace. Guys I love being on a mission so much! Coming on a mission was the best decision I ever made. I love being so close to the spirit all the time and representing my Savior Jesus Christ is such an honor. Be strong and of good courage remembering how much you are loved by your Father in Heaven. Te Amo!!!
